Best Tracks of 2013

2013 promised a lot, and listening to the music below it’s hard to argue that it didn’t deliver. We had new albums by heavy hitters like Arcade Fire and Daft Punk to look forward to, after all.

But the thing that really stuck out was the incredible return of legendary artists who delivered amazing music after a decade or more of silence. Bowie, Mazzy Star, Suede, Pixies and even My Bloody Valentine delivered fantastic new records. Maybe 2014 will be the year of the kids? Here’s hoping.

My usual rule of one entry per artist applied.

And yes, I know that there is more than 50 songs but I tried really really hard to get this list down but just couldn’t lose any more. Another sign of a good year.
